The bridge linking Terminals 1 & 2 at Gatwick posed an especially interesting trench heating project. The trench footprint had to accommodate the structural steel for the buffer bar  preventing luggage trolleys colliding with the glazing. This project involved the refurbishment of a complete building for use by an American bank in Canary Wharf. There were no piped water services available so the trench heating had to be electrically heated. As you see the grille is particularly wide.
