Trench heating – Gatwick Airport. Incorporating a structural steel framework
The bridge linking Terminals 1 & 2 at Gatwick posed an especially interesting trench heating project. The trench footprint had to accommodate the structural steel for the buffer bar preventing luggage trolleys colliding with the glazing. Additionally many of the vertical glazing bars intruded into the trench footprint requiring the grille to be manufactured to neatly reduce in size and pass by the glazing bars. The project also required a special extrusion to be designed which created a almost invisible union between the side of the trench and the window transom.
As you can see from the pictures the finished result is of an exceptionally high quality. Sill Line is expertly placed to be able to handle such bespoke orders.
